DealScope

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

DealScope is a browser extension that helps you compare PC game prices across digital storefronts. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, what it stores, and what it does not do.

What DealScope does not do

What DealScope accesses

When you visit a supported game storefront, DealScope reads:

This information is used for the single-turn purpose of looking up price data. It is not stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere outside of the third-party APIs listed below.

What DealScope stores locally

The following data is stored only in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it:

Third-party APIs

DealScope makes requests to the following public APIs to fetch price data:

API keys you provide are sent only to the service they belong to. Your Steam API key goes only to Valve's servers; your GG.deals API key goes only to GG.deals. These keys are never transmitted to any other party.

Notifications

If you configure price alerts on wishlisted games, DealScope uses the Chrome notifications API to show desktop alerts when a game drops below your target price. Notifications are generated locally based on price-check results and are not sent from any remote server.

Uninstalling

Removing DealScope from Chrome deletes all locally-stored data. There is no cloud data to delete because DealScope does not store anything in the cloud.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change and a note will be added to the extension's release notes.
